CCSF named No. 5 seed for postseason, hosts No. 12 Sierra in second round on Saturday

An impressive 2023-24 City College of San Francisco women's basketball season will extend into the postseason. On Sunday, the Rams received the No. 5 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs.

As a top-8 seed, CCSF earned a bye in the opening round and will host No. 12 Sierra College in a second-round game on Saturday, March 2 at 5:30 p.m. The contest will be a part of a playoff doubleheader as the Rams men's basketball team is also set to host a second-round contest at 7:30 p.m.

Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) postseason game at Brad Duggan Court at the Wellness Center are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old. Tickets can be purchased online in advance at the CCSF Tickets Page.

The Rams head into the playoffs after wrapping up its eighth consecutive Coast Conference North Division championship with an 8-2 record and is 20-7 overall under head coach Derek Lau.

CCSF is in search of its first-ever state championship and will look to return to the state tournament for the first time since 2017. The Rams were state championship runner up in 2011 and have reached the state tournament Final Four in 2010, 2011, 2016, and 2017.

Sierra is now 18-11 overall after its 83-51 first-round playoffs win over College of the Redwoods on Wednesday. The Wolverines went 11-5 in the Big 8 Conference to finish tied for third place. 

Two wins are needed by the Rams to advance to the 3C2A State Championships March 15-17 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
