The City College of San Francisco women's water polo team will host a playoff play-in game on Nov. 1 against De Anza College (3-6 overall/3-5 Coast-North).

The winner of this match will advance to this Friday's Conference Championship round.

The Rams (3-9 overall/2-6 Coast-North) last played De Anza on Sept 29, defeating the Dons 11-10.

The Rams held the lead for that entire game, and closed the first half with an 8-5 lead over the Dons.

But the Dons' defense responded in the second half and allowed only three goals the rest of the way. De Anza's improved defensive play led to more scoring opportunities against CCSF, and the Dons slowly chipped away at the Rams' lead.

The Rams were up 11-7 in the fourth quarter, but watched the Dons score three consecutive unanswered goals to close the lead to 11-10. Although their lead was down to one goal, The Rams defense held back the Don's rally and captured their first win of the year.

In the sequel to this matchup, the Rams will lean heavily on their two top goal scorers in sophomore Ashley Davis and freshman Julia Lane. Davis leads the Rams in goals (43) and assists (16). Lane has 41 goals, 10 assists, and also leads the team in steals with 17.

Game time is 3:30 p.m.
