The City College of San Francisco water polo team won on the road last Friday at De Anza College, defeating the Dons 11-10.

The Rams held the lead the entire game, and closed the first half with an 8-5 lead over the Dons.

But the Dons' defense responded in the second half and allowed only three goals the rest of the way. De Anza's improved defensive play led to more scoring opportunities against CCSF, and the Dons slowly chipped away at the Rams' lead.

The Rams were up 11-7 in the fourth quarter, but watched the Dons score three consecutive unanswered goals to close the lead to 11-10. Although their lead was down to one goal, The Rams defense held back the Don's rally and captured their first win of the year.

CCSF was led by sophomore Ashley Davis' five goals and freshman Julia Lane's three goals. Goalkeeper Katy Granell had a game-high total of 12 saves.

The Rams travel to Cabrillo College on October 4. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
