CCSF suffers conference loss to Monterey Peninsula

SAN FRANCISCO – Mary Shunashi Hernandez-Elorza totaled 13 kills and 18 digs to lead City College of San Francisco in a 3-1 loss to visiting Monterey Peninsula College on Wednesday. The Rams took the opening set of the Coast Conference match, but ultimately fell by scores of 19-25, 25-18, 25-12, 25-22.

For Hernadez-Elorza, it was her fourth double-double of the season in kills and digs. Dayana Gonzalez also had a solid match with 7 kills and 10 digs while Maihli Hunkin led with 23 assists to go with 10 digs.

Maliah Trinidad also had 18 digs and Raina Shrimali contributed a pair of kills and 3 blocks.

The loss dropped CCSF to 3-17 overall and 0-1 in Coast Conference play. The Rams are back in action on Friday (Oct. 11) when they travel to Hartnell College for a conference match.
