The City College of San Francisco volleyball team (9-5) opened their Coast-North Conference season with a convincing 3-0 (25-7, 25-7, 25-4) win against the Chabot Gladiators (0-7) last night at Chabot.

The win increased the Rams' season-high winning streak to four games.

The Rams set the tone early in the match by completely overwhelming the Gladiators with effcient attacks. In the first set, 15 of the Rams 25 points came by the way of kills, followed by a second set that saw them total 17 kills.

Leading the offensive onslaught was all-conference member sophomore Jennifer Quarters-Styles. Styles totaled a team-high 15 kills on 16 attempts and one service ace. She also contributed on defense with eight digs. Sophomore all-conference member Pamela Dungo led the team with 34 assists.

When Chabot's attackers attempted to rally their team from behind, their attacks were usually met by the hands of sophomore all-conference member Lepepaina Malieitulua. The defensive specialist led the Rams in digs with 11. Freshman Zellia Quarters-Styles finished second on the team with nine digs

The Rams will look to push their winning streak to five game when they travel to Hartnell College on October 6. Game time is 6:30 pm.
