Rams close out regular-season schedule at Chabot Last Chance Invitational

HAYWARD – The City College of San Francisco women's swimming team was in action for a final time before the postseason, competing at the Chabot College Last Chance Invitational on Saturday.

CCSF won three individual events at the meet, led by a pair of victories by Sophia Tran and a first-place showing by Serawit Ezra.

Tran was a double-winner, taking first in the 200-yard IM (2:20.12) as well as the 200-yard breaststroke (2:35.82) while Ezra was the top finisher in the 400-yard IM with her time of 5:23.20. Ezra was also second in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:27.46.

Rams' head coach Phong Pham pointed out an impressive showing by Sarah Tanabe in what he considers one of the toughest events in college swimming, the 200-yard butterfly. She was third in the finals with a time of 2:37.00.

Up next for CCSF is the Coast Conference Championships on April 18-20 at College of the Marin. That will be followed by the 3C2A State Championships on May 2-4 at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa.
