SAN FRANCISCO – Freshman Paige Pineda Aliamus and sophomore Fatima Waldo Garcia scored while sophomore Yvette Moreno put together a solid effort in goal to help lead City College of San Francisco to a 2-0 non-conference win over visiting Los Medanos College on Friday.
The Rams bounced back from a tough 3-2 loss on Tuesday at Lake Tahoe Community College. Friday's victory improved CCSF to 3-4 overall.
San Francisco set the tone early when Pineda Aliamus scored in the third minute off the assist from Amaya Jarzombek. It remained a 1-0 game all the way until the 85th minute when Waldo Garcia scored unassisted on a free kick to ice the Rams' win.
Making just her second start of the season, Moreno was impressive in posting CCSF's second shutout of the season. She totaled 5 saves in goal in support of a solid Rams' defense.
CCSF is back in action on Tuesday (Sep. 26) when the Rams travel to Sierra College for a 4 p.m. non-conference game.
