SACRAMENTO – After a tough start to the 2023 season, the City College of San Francisco women's soccer team picked up its first win thanks to an impressive 4-1 victory at American River College on Tuesday.

Freshman Paige Pineda Aliamus had a huge game for the Rams as she scored a pair of first-half goals and earned an assist late in the game.

Pineda Aliamus gave the Rams a 1-0 lead after scoring on a corner kick from Angelina St. Denis in the 22^nd minute. Moments later, the duo hooked up again to extend the CCSF advantage to 2-0 in the 24^th minute.

American River finally got on the board just moments before halftime with a goal in the 45^th minute.

But the Rams put the game out of reach thanks to goals by Daniela Del Carlo in the 77^th minute (Ivon Escuen assist) and Escuen in the 83^rd (Pienda Aliamus assist).

Paolina Molina earned the victory in goal for the Rams as she totaled 5 saves while allowing just the lone goal.

CCSF, now 1-2, returns to action on Sunday (Sep. 10) when the Rams host perennial Southern California power Cypress College in a 12:30 p.m. non-conference game.
