SACRAMENTO – After a tough start to the 2023 season, the City College of San Francisco women's soccer team picked up its first win thanks to an impressive 4-1 victory at American River College on Tuesday.

Freshman Paige Pineda Aliamus had a huge game for the Rams as she scored a pair of first-half goals and earned an assist late in the game.

Pineda Aliamus gave the Rams a 1-0 lead after scoring on a corner kick from Angelina St. Denis in the 22nd minute. Moments later, the duo hooked up again to extend the CCSF advantage to 2-0 in the 24th minute.

American River finally got on the board just moments before halftime with a goal in the 45th minute.

But the Rams put the game out of reach thanks to goals by Daniela Del Carlo in the 77th minute (Ivon Escuen assist) and Escuen in the 83rd (Pienda Aliamus assist).

Paolina Molina earned the victory in goal for the Rams as she totaled 5 saves while allowing just the lone goal.

CCSF, now 1-2, returns to action on Sunday (Sep. 10) when the Rams host perennial Southern California power Cypress College in a 12:30 p.m. non-conference game.
