Rams defeats Chabot 7-2

The City College of San Francisco women's soccer team beat Chabot College 7-2 last Friday at CCSF.

The win pushes the Rams' record to 6-1-1 overall (1-0-1 Coast-North Conference).

The Rams got on the board early against Chabot College (1-6-2, 0-2 Coast-North Conference) when sophomore midfielder Angelica Gonzalez scored off an assist by freshman forward Sofia Jones in the third minute. Gonzalez struck again in the 32nd minute when she scored her second goal of the game off an assist by sophomore defender Shannon Garcia to put the Rams up 2-0. CCSF added two more scores when Jones and freshman defender Lauren Inman scored in the 33rd minute and 37th minute, respectively.

The Rams found themselves up 4-0 at the start of the second half; however, Chabot's Sydney Hollingsworth scored goals at the 49th and 51st minutes to close the Rams' lead to two.

CCSF halted Chabot's momentum when Gonzalez scored her third goal in the 55th minute off an assist by freshman forward Sienna Lopez. The Rams added onto their lead with goals by jones and sophomore forward Danielle Nicotera at the 62nd minute and 76th minute, respectively.  

The Rams are 4-0-1 in their last five games and are scoring an impressive 4.6 goals per game during this stretch.

The Rams will travel to Foothill College on October 13 for a 1:30 p.m. game.
