The City College of San Francisco women's soccer team's match against the Canada College Colts (5-2-2) ended in a 1-1 tie yesterday at Canada.

The Rams (5-1-1) scored early in the contest against their Coast-North division opponent when freshman forward Sofia Jones netted a goal off an assist by sophomore midfielder Angelica Gonzalez at the 20-minute mark. Jones now has six goals for the season.

CCSF held the lead for the majority of the game until the Colts' Alex Augulis scored at the 74-minute mark.

Head Coach Jeff Wilson said that the game was well played by both sides and that the match could have gone in the Rams' favor.

"Both teams came ready to play yesterday," Wilson said. "We had our opportunities to score and go ahead, but it just didn't happen. That's the way soccer is sometimes," Wilson said.

Freshman goalkeeper Michelle Gonzalez had another strong showing in front of the net. She saved six of seven shots on goal. The goal allowed by Gonzalez is only the third goal she has allowed in six games played.
