
SAN FRANCISCO – The 2023-24 City College of San Francisco women's basketball season got off to a great start for the No. 9 state-ranked Rams thanks to an 85-58 win over visiting Foothill College on Wednesday night.
CCSF was up 27-20 after the opening quarter before outscoring Foothill 30-9 in the second to effectively put the game out of reach.
Freshman Madison Thomas was impressive in her CCSF debut, posting a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
Deonna Mayfield had a solid all-around game as she led the Rams with 18 points. She also totaled 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Deadriana Prim nearly had a double-double of her own with 15 points and 9 boards while Malea Scobie came off the bench to score 10 points and grab 4 rebounds.
CCSF, now 1-0, returns to action on Nov. 17 when the Rams will compete at the two-day Sierra College Crossover. San Francisco is scheduled to play Fresno City College on Friday at 4 p.m. followed by a Saturday game at 1 p.m. against host Sierra.
