NAPA – No. 6 state-ranked City College of San Francisco improved to 6-1 on the season after picking up three wins over the weekend on its way to winning the Napa Valley College Storm Surge Tournament championship.
The Rams opened the tourney with a 99-38 rout on Friday against Contra Costa College. CCSF needed overtime to defeat Coast Conference foe San Jose City College in Saturday's semifinals. And on Sunday, the Rams rolled to a 72-50 victory over Sierra College in the championship game.
Sophomore Talo Li-Uperesa averaged 18 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2.5 blocks on her way to being named the tournament most valuable player. She was joined by Teuila Tuiasosopo, who had 18 points and 9 rebounds against Sierra, on the all-tournament team.
The Rams have won four in a row and return to action on Thursday (Dec. 8) when they open the three-day Los Angeles Valley College tournament. CCSF is scheduled to face Los Angeles Trade-Tech College in its opener at 1 p.m.
