City College of San Francisco continued its dominant start to the 2021-22 season by winning three games over the weekend at the Napa Valley College Storm Surge tournament. Sophomore guard Kaela Stonebarger totaled 39 points and 10 assists over three games on her way to being named most valuable player.

The Rams have won six straight and improved to 9-1 overall.

CCSF overwhelmed its opposition in Napa, winning its three games at the tourney by an average margin of victory by 34 points. The Rams opened the weekend on Friday with a 74-39 win over Los Medanos College, defeated San Jose City College 75-34 on Saturday, and wrapped up the event with a 76-49 victory against host Napa Valley on Sunday.

After a close first quarter against Los Medanos, the Rams blew the game open in the second. Los Medanos actually led 17-16 before CCSF exploded to outscore the Mustangs 25-4 in the second and 20-4 in the third.

Becca Tasi posted a double-double to lead the Rams with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Stonebarger totaled 11 points and 5 assists while Tuiela Tuiasosopo chipped in with 11 points and 6 rebounds.

CCSF got off to a fast start against San Jose, jumping out to a 23-8 lead after the first quarter. The Rams led 37-18 at halftime and were never challenged.

Amira Lima nailed 4 three-pointers on her wat to a season-high 18 points. She added 5 steals and 3 assists.

Stonebarger (pictured, left) put up 14 points while Mikayla Amoroso totaled 8 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 points.

It was more of the same against Napa Valley. CCSF was ahead 19-12 after the first quarter and built up a commanding 35-23 lead at halftime. The Rams got numerous contributions from its lineup.

Stonebarger, Lama, and Tasi all scored 14 points to pace the offense. Amoroso chipped in with 8 assists and 7 rebounds and Sierra Kolomatangi chipped in with 8 points and 7 rebounds.

The Rams return to action on Friday (Dec. 10) when they will compete at the two-day Fresno City College Crossover tournament. CCSF is set to take on host Fresno at 6 p.m. and will face Merced College at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
