Lady Rams Get Tough Test to Open CCCAA Playoffs

After finishing in a three-way tie atop the Coast Conference, the City College of San Francisco women's basketball team will ride a 4-game winning streak into their playoff opener on Friday night, a home matchup against Lassen College.

The Rams, who are the 7th seed in the NorCal Region of the CCCAA Championship Bracket, should have their hands full on Friday, as the Cougars average 74 points per game, 10 points more per game than City averaged during the regular season. At 20-8, Lassen also shoot an impressive 49% from the field, and an even more impressive 43% as a team from beyond the arc.

City College, meanwhile, should look to disrupt and slow down the Lassen offense with their signature aggressive defensive pressure, and will try to match the shooting prowess of Lassen, especially if sharpshooter Vivian Woo is able to get into a rhythm shooting the ball from 3.

Woo, who averaged 13 points per game in the regular season, shot 36% from 3 in her sophomore campaign, and 42% overall from the field. Sophomore forward Errayanna Hatfield should also be a key contributor on Friday night, as she led all Rams in scoring this season with 15 points per game.
