Rams Eye Rubber Match With First Place Trojans

Following Friday night's defeat at the hands of Chabot College, the City College of San Francisco are set to take on first place Skyline in San Bruno Wednesday night, in what will decide the season series for the two Coast Conference rivals.

On Friday, the Rams scored a season-low 35 points, falling to Chabot 54-35. The loss forces a two-way tie for 2nd place in the Conference, with both teams now at 4-2 in Conference play.

Errayanna Hatfield led the Rams with 13 points in the loss, while also pulling down 9 total rebounds. Hatfield was the only scorer to finish in double digits, with the team shooting just 19% from the field on the night. Chabot, meanwhile, shot 42% from the field, with starting guards Zakiya Mahoney and Nyah Willis both finishing with 14 points.

City won the first matchup with Skyline College in what was technically an out-of-conference game, beating the Trojans 59-54 on December 22nd in the second game of the Golden Gate Classic at The Wellness Center. Skyline then returned to San Francisco and came away with a 70-64 overtime victory, to spoil the Rams' first home Coast Conference game on January 10th.

At 6-0 in Conference play, the Trojans have won 7 straight games, and have lost just 1 game all season at home. The Rams will no doubt have to win out if they hope to once again capture the Coast Conference North title, and will travel to face College of San Mateo following their Skyline matchup on Wednesday, February 12th. CCSF then hosts Ohlone on February 19th for their home finale before closing the season on the road against Las Positas.

That Ohlone game will tip off at 5pm and be broadcast live on CCSFAthletics.com under Rams TV and streaming on Facebook live at Facebook.com/CCSFAthletics.
