Another year, another solid and impressive season for Derek Lau and the City of College of San Francisco women's basketball team. The Lady Rams, who saw their season come to an end on the road at Diablo Valley College on March 7 in the 3rd round of the CCCAA  playoffs, proved once again they were one of the top JUCO programs in California.

At 21-8 and 8-2 in the Coast Conference North, City finished in a three-way tie for the conference Championship which is their 5th consecutive league championship. City, who went 5-1 in November to start the season, proceeded to go 5-4 in December in three separate high powered pre-conference tournaments, before losing just twice more in the regular season in January and February.

It was a trio of sophomores who led the Lady Rams in scoring in 2019-20, with forward 2nd Team All State and Coast-North MVP, Erryanna Hatfield's 14.6 points per game topping all scorers this season, starting in all 29 games. First Team All Conference sophomore guard Vivian Woo, who will be transferring to nearby Menlo College for her junior year, was second in scoring with 13 points per game, while First Team All Conference guard Jayden Benitez finished just behind her with 12 points per game and 5.5 assists per game.

While those players will certainly be missed production-wise next season, City can hang their hats on the impressive play of several freshman this year, particularly forward Becca Tasi, who appeared 26 games and averaged 6.3 points per game, along with 6.2 rebounds per game. Guard Francesca Cornell will also a presumptive returning sophomore in 2020-21, along with guards Amelia Sinclair and Passion Evans, and forwards Patricia Taylor and Marlene Puni, all of whom saw the court a lot this season.

As a team, CCSF averaged 63 points per game, and were 14th in California in blocked shots per game, with 4.2. The Lady Rams were also road warriors, losing just twice on an opponents' floor, and finished ranked #17 in all of California in the final CCCAA rankings.

With a good number of returning players set to come back to The Wellness Center next year, the future of the Lady Rams looks bright.
