SAN FRANCISCO – Sophomore Xavier Alexander Elder broke free for his seventh goal of the season, and it proved to be the game-winner, as City College of San Francisco edged No. 8 state-ranked Santa Rosa Junior College 1-0 on Friday at home.
The Rams are off to an impressive start, posting a 4-1 overall record so far this season.
Elder has been just as hot. After a scoreless first half, he knocked in his state-leading seventh goal in the 60th minute.
The Rams got a solid effort from Calvin Dang in goal. He posted 4 saves on his way to earning CCSF's third shutout of the season.
San Francisco is back in action on Tuesday (Sep. 24) when the Rams travel to American River College for a 4 p.m. non-conference game.
