Laguna scores twice in 3-0 CCSF win at Lake Tahoe

LAKE TAHOE – Sophomore Sergio Laguna knocked in a pair of second-half goals to help lead City College of San Francisco to a 3-0 win at Lake Tahoe Community College on Wednesday.

With the win, the Rams improved to 4-2 overall this season.

After a scoreless battle over the opening 45 minutes, CCSF came alive in the second half. Laguna scored the first of consecutive unassisted goals in the 55th minute to give the Rams the lead. He made it 2-0 after scoring his fifth goals of the season in the 68th minute.

Basel Al Gharabli secured the Rams' victory with his goal in the 83rd minute off the assist from Erick Gonzalez Mejia.

Edwin Garcia earned the shutout in goal for CCSF with 5 saves. It was the Rams' third shutout of the season.

CCSF returns to action on Tuesday (Sep. 26) when the Rams open Coast Conference play at Chabot College at 4 p.m.
