SAN FRANCISCO – After being shutout in its season opener on Friday, City College of San Francisco's offense finally came alive on Tuesday. Thanks to a flurry of second-half goals, the Rams erased a 1-0 deficit to defeat American River College in its home opener by a final score of 3-1.

After a scoreless first half, American River got on the board first. Lhagvaa Zagdragchaa scored unassisted in the 50th minute to give the Beavers a 1-0 advantage.

But from there, it was all CCSF. Christian Kercher supplied the equalizer with a goal in the 53rd minute thanks to the assist from Anderson Jeovany Colocho Ortega. Xavier Alexander-Madrid put the Rams out in front for good with a goal in the 68th minute (Sergio Laguna assist) and Laguna secured the victory by scoring in the 78th minute with the assist from Gustavo Orocio.

Edwin Garcia earned the win in goal for the Rams. He totaled 3 saves and allowed just the lone goal.

With the win, CCSF evened its record at 1-1. The Rams are back in action on Thursday (Sep. 7) when they host Contra Costa College in a 4 p.m. non-conference game.
