CCSF celebrates championship season with men’s soccer postseason awards

The 2022 Coast Conference North Division champion City College of San Francisco men's soccer team was recognized for its outstanding season with an impressive total of 16 all-conference postseason awards.

Earning top honors for the Rams were sophomores Georgi Stoyanov and Fernando Escobedo. Stoyanov was named the Coast Conference North Division Midfielder of the Year while Escobedo was tabbed the Goalkeeper of the Year.

Stoyanov and Escobedo were also selected first-team All-Coast Conference North Division. They were joined on the first team by Adrian Vasquez, Benito Morales, Sergio Laguna, Ruben Balderas, and Nestor Guarnero

Named second-team All-Coast Conference North Division were Oliver Cortes Guillen, Henry Estrada, Victor Beteta, Eduardo Pedemonte Jr., and Adan Guzman.

Honorable mention selections for the Rams were Raymond Langford, and Jonathan Wence.

Stoyanov and Escobedo also earned honors at the state level and were selected to the All-Northern California team by the California Community College Soccer Coaches Association (CCCSCA).

CCSF closed out its championship season ranked No. 14 in the nation by United Soccer Coaches. The Rams, under head coach Adam Lucarelli compiled a 14-5-1 overall record and went 7-3-1 in Coast Conference North Division play to win its sixth title since 2011. The Rams came up just short in advancing to the state championships, but reached the third round of the Northern California playoffs.
