A goal in the 90th minute by No. 3 state-ranked Foothill College turned a likely tie into a 2-1 loss for the City College of San Francisco men's soccer team on Tuesday.

The Rams nearly put a blemish on Foothill's perfect record. With the score even at 1-1, Foothill's Djelani Phillips' goal just moments before the game's final whistle sent the visiting Owls home with a hard-fought Coast Conference win.

Foothill (8-0, 1-0 CC) took an early 1-0 lead with a goal in the 15th minute by David Cruz. But CCSF got the equalizer in the 30th, thanks to a goal by Stone Garland with the assist from Adrian Vasquez.

The two squads battled over the final 60 minutes but CCSF couldn't finish on its scoring chances.

Isaac Alvarez totaled four saves in goal for the Rams. CCSF fell to 3-3-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

The Rams will look to bounce back on Friday (Oct. 1) when they travel to Cabrillo College for a 6:30 p.m. Coast Conference game.
