The City College of San Francisco men's soccer team built up a first-half lead that it wouldn't give up as the Rams defeated visiting American River College 3-1 on Friday.

San Francisco snapped a two-game winless streak and improved to 3-2-1 overall to close out its non-conference schedule.

Three different Rams scored in the contest. CCSF built up an early 2-0 lead after goals by Sagan Patarroyo-White in the 10th minute and a strike by Sora Konisha-Gray in the 13th.

Stone Garland made it a 3-0 advantage for the Rams thanks to his goal in the 55th. Alejandro Palos was credited with the assist, his second of the game.

American River scored late in the 83rd minute to break up the shutout. Fernando Escobedo (1 save) and Isaac Alvarez (3 saves) split even time in goal for the Rams in the win.

CCSF returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 28) at 4 p.m. when the Rams begin Coast Conference play by hosting Foothill College.
