Huge second-half rally lifts No. 2 Rams past No. 1 Las Positas

LIVERMORE – No. 2 state-ranked City College of San Francisco avenged its lone loss of the season with an 80-61 rout at No. 1 Las Positas College on Wednesday night. With the crucial victory, the Rams now sit in first place in the Coast Conference North Division standings all alone at 8-1.

Since an 81-69 loss to Las Positas on Jan. 10, CCSF has won seven straight games to improve to 22-1 overall.

The Rams trailed throughout the first half and were down 32-28 at the break. But CCSF made adjustments in the locker room and opened up the second half with an amazing 23-2 run to take a commanding 51-34 advantage with 11:46 remaining in the contest.

Ray-John Spears led CCSF with 23 points as he nailed 5 three-pointers. Miles Amos had 16 points, Vitor Oliveria added 13 points, and King-Njhsanni Wilhite chipped in with 11 points.

CCSF is back in action on Friday (Feb. 7) at 7pm when the Rams host No. 17 Skyline College in another big Coast Conference North Division game.
