No. 7 CCSF knocks off No. 5 Sequoias, split games at Giant Classic

VISALIA – Willie Williams poured in 19 points while Ray John Spears came off the bench to score 16 points to help lead No. 7 state-ranked City College of San Francisco to an 84-71 win over College of the Sequoias to close out the two-day COS Giant Classic on Friday.

The Rams were able to bounce back after a shocking 74-70 loss to No. 13 LA Southwest College on Thursday.

On Friday, CCSF and COS battled in the opening half. With the score tied at 17-17, the Rams put together a 12-2 run to go ahead for good. San Francisco led 36-27 at the break and would not trail in the second.

Jalen Glen scored 10 points while King-Jhsanni Wilhite and Miles Amos had 9 points each. D'Aunte Johnson nearly had a double-double with 8 points and 9 rebounds.

On Thursday, Williams had a huge game in the loss by putting up a game-high 25 points. Glen totaled 14 points and Antonio Pusateri contributed 10 points and 5 rebounds.

CCSF, now 6-1 overall, is back in action on Nov. 28 when the Rams travel to No. 2 state-ranked Yuba College for a 6 p.m. non-conference game.
