After a nearly perfect regular season, the City College of San Francisco men's basketball team is ready for the playoffs. The postseason officially begins this week as the Rams were rewarded with the top seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs.

CCSF will host the winner of No. 16 American River College and No. 17 Cabrillo College in a Round 2 game on Thursday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m.

Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) postseason game at the CCSF Wellness Center's Brad Duggan Court are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.

The Rams put together another amazing regular season under head coach Justin Labagh and are looking for more. CCSF enters the postseason with a 27-1 overall record and has won 23 straight games since its lone loss back on Nov. 19. The Rams earned their 11th consecutive Coast Conference North Division championship with a 14-0 record.

CCSF was on track to capture the state championship in 2020 with a 30-0 record but the season was cut short just before the open of the state tournament due to the pandemic. The Rams last won a state championship in 2018 and has earned four overall (1962, 2011, 2016, 2018).

American River (17-9) and Cabrillo (17-11) will meet in an opening-round game on Tuesday (Mar. 1) in Sacramento. American River finished third in the Big 8 Conference with a 10-6 record while Cabrillo was also third in the Coast Conference South Division at 8-4.

The winner of Thursday's game will advance to Round 3 to face either No. 8 Santa Rosa Junior College (19-9) or No. 9 Los Medanos College (23-5) on Saturday, March 5. Two wins are needed by the Rams to advance to the CCCAA Basketball State Championships on March 11-13 at West Hills College Lemoore in Lemoore.
