No. 1 Rams pick up back-to-back wins including historic victory over Foothill

The No. 1 state-ranked City College of San Francisco men's basketball team extended its winning streak to 11 games thanks to a pair of huge wins over the weekend to open Coast Conference play. On Friday, the Rams rolled to a 108-40 victory over visiting Ohlone College and followed that with a historic 121-61 win at Foothill College on Saturday night.

Saturday's victory marked the 500th win over 18 years for the CCSF coaching trio of head coach Justin Labagh and assistant coaches Adam D'Acquisto and Tom McNichol.

CCSF got off to a fast start by outscoring Ohlone on Friday 52-20 in the first half and was never challenged. All 13 Rams that saw action in the contest scored, including five in double figures. San Francisco put up a balanced attack on offense, getting a team-high 14 points from Mezziah Oakman. Naseem Gaskin had a good all-around game with 13 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 steals.

Emmett Neal and Devan Sapp both scored 11 points each while Nathan Ilunga totaled 10 points off the bench.

The Rams put up a season-high 121 points at Foothill on Saturday to close out their perfect weekend. CCSF built up another huge lead at break, holding a 59-24 advantage after the opening 20 minutes.

Wrenn Robinson totaled a season-best 20 points to lead the Rams. Sapp added 18 points, while Gaskin and Seyi Reilly both totaled 16 points and 6 rebounds each.

Julian Vaughns added 12 points and Jamir Thomas scored 10.

CCSF improved to 15-1 overall and 2-0 in the Coast Conference. The Rams will put their winning streak on the line on Wednesday (Jan. 12) when they are scheduled to host College of San Mateo in a 7 p.m. conference game.
