Rams win big against De Anza

The City College of San Francisco football team (3-1 Natl. Bay 6/6-3 Overall) defeated the De Anza College Dons 58-0 last Saturday at De Anza.

The Rams' defense overwhelmed De Anza (1-3 Natl. Bay 6/2-7 Overall) throughout the entire game. CCSF allowed a minuscule 90 yards of total offense (78 passing yards/39 rushing yards) and scored a mind-boggling four defensive touchdowns.

The defensive highlight play of the game came courtesy of sophomore defensive back Bejour Wilson. Early in the first quarter, Wilson returned an interception for a 25-yard touchdown to give the Rams a commanding 21-0 lead.

For the year, the Rams' defense has been one of the state's best defensive units. Their 245.4 yards allowed per game and 17.4 points allowed per game ranks CCSF no.1 and no.6 in those categories, respectively.

CCSF's offense also had a strong showing against the Dons. The Rams racked up 378 yards of total offense, with 317 of those yards coming by way of the pass. Freshman quarterback Sean Duffy threw for 285 yards on 17-of-29 pass attempts and three passing touchdowns. Sophomore wideout Kevin Fox Jr. led the Rams receiving corp with four receptions, 71 receiving yards, and two receiving touchdowns.

The Rams final regular-season game of the year will be this Saturday when the Rams host Contra Costa College. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
