The City College of San Francisco football team defeated the Chabot Gladiators 48-6 on Saturday at Hayward.

The Rams (2-2) started the scoring early in the contest when sophomore quarterback Zach Masoli ran for a 1-yard touchdown with 9:51 remaining in the first quarter.

The score remained 7-0 going into the second quarter. Then the Rams unleashed freshman running back Isaiah Floyd. The shifty, 185-pound Floyd accounted for the Rams next three scores, a 27-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, an 18-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, and a 6-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Floyd ran for 199 yards on 24 rushing attempts.

The Gladiators (0-4) scored a touchdown late in the second quarter that put them behind 14-6, but it ceased to matter because the Rams were in complete control of the game. The Rams offense totaled 443 yards of offense while the defense allowed only 190 yards. The Rams defense excelled on third down, allowing only 3-of-14 conversions to the Gladiators.

The two highlight plays of the night came late in the fourth quarter when sophomore defensive back Jelani Baines blocked a punt and returned it for a 13-yard touchdown with 2:08 remaining, and freshman linebacker Tyjohn Knight recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown at the 1:45 mark.

The Rams travel to Butte College (3-1) this Saturday, September 30. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
