
CUPERTINO – Isac Mendoza went 4 for 5 with 5 RBI to help lead City College of San Francisco to a 12-10 win at De Anza College on Thursday in Game 2 of a three-game Coast Conference series.
A big eight-run, eighth-inning rally by the Rams proved to be the difference in the contest. In the epic frame, CCSF sent 13 batters to the plate and managed to score seven of the eight runs with two outs.
Mendoza came up to the plate twice in the inning and delivered both times. His got the scoring started by bringing in the first run with an RBI single and drove in the final two runs with a double to close out the rally.
Mark Zhu added a two-run double and Dwayne White drove in a pair as well with a single as part of the big inning.
Kaden Healy also had a solid game at the plate, going 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles, a walk, RBI, and two runs.
The win snapped a 12-game losing streak for the Rams. The improved to 6-25 overall and 2-12 in Coast Conference play.
