City College of San Francisco sophomore David Howard was recently named the Coast Conference North Division Pitcher of the Week by the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association (CCCBCA) following his impressive performance on the mound for the Rams at Antelope Valley College.

Howard went the distance in a 5-1 CCSF victory in Lancaster on Feb. 24. He scattered 7 hits over the 9 frames, striking out 5 and walking just 2. He was consistently in the zone, throwing 73 of his 99 pitches for strikes.

With the win, Howard improved his overall record to 2-1 on the season.

Jordan Renteria led CCSF offensively in the contest, going 3 for 5 with 1 RBI and a run scored. Mark Zhu and George Thompson also drove in runs for the Rams.

San Francisco moved to 5-6 with the win while the Rams handed Antelope Valley (7-2) just their second loss of the season.
