Rams roll to 11-4 win over Barstow

FAIRFIELD – Miguel Esquviez went 4 for 5 with 2 RBI while Jackson Wood drove in 3 runs to help lead City College of San Francisco to an 11-4 non-conference win over Barstow College on Sunday.

CCSF moved to 4-5 overall.

The Rams' offense has been impressive early in the season. Over 9 games, CCSF is averaging over 8 runs per game and has scored 10+ runs six times this season.

San Francisco totaled 12 hits in the win over Barstow. Esquviez led the way with a double and 3 singles. His RBI-double in the bottom of the first inning drove in the Rams' opening run of the game.

Wood hit a two-run single in the fifth and drew a bases-loaded walk in the second to force in a run. David Howard also had 2 RBI while Lisandro Gonzalez and Caige Campbell both scored 3 runs.

Angel Acosta turned in a solid effort on the mound in the start. He allowed 4 runs (3 earned) and 9 hits over 6 innings. Jordan Montoya tossed a pair of scoreless innings and Raymond Tsang closed it out with a scoreless ninth.

The Rams are back in action next weekend (Feb. 23-24) when they will travel south to take on Antelope Valley College in Lancaster for a pair of non-conference games. Friday's contest is set for 1 p.m. with Game 2 on Saturday at noon.
