Rams get offensive in 14-5 win at De Anza

CUPERTINO --- City College of San Francisco put up season highs of 14 runs and 15 hits to cruise to a 14-5 rout at De Anza College on Tuesday.

Second baseman David Balague led the charge, going 4 for 6 with 3 RBI. Ryan Anderson (2 for 5) also drove in three runs while Ray Redman smacked a solo home run late in the game.

After two scoreless innings, CCSF broke through by scoring at least one run over the next five innings. A four-run, fifth-inning propelled the Rams to a 7-1 advantage.

Owen Gallegos earned the win for the Rams with a solid starting effort. He allowed five runs and six hits over 6 1/3 innings. Gallegos struck out eight and walked just one. CCSF got scoreless relief from Aman Khera (1 2/3 innings) and Chadwick Plath (1 inning) to close out the ball game.

CCSF improved to 3-7 overall and faces Diablo Valley College on Thursday (Feb. 24) in a 12 p.m. non-conference game played at Fairmont Field in Pacifica.
