COSTA MESA – The 2024 3C2A Swimming & Diving State Championships are set to get underway today on the campus of Orange Coast College in Southern California. City College of San Francisco will be well represented at the meet in the OC as the Rams have sent a pair of individuals and three relay teams.
Leading the way is freshman Sophia Tran. She'll have a busy weekend competing in three events and all three relays. Tran is set to hit the pool in the 200-yard breaststroke, 100-yard breaststroke, and 200-yard IM. She currently ranks fifth in the 200 breast, sixth in the 100 breast, and ninth in the 200 IM.
In relays, Tran will team up with Serawit Ezra, Lian Mar, and Sarah Tanabe in the 400-yard medley relay. In the 200-yard medley relay, Tran will compete with Remy Dizon, Mar, and Hillary Hong. And in the 400-yard freestyle relay, she'll combine with Mar, Ezra, and Tanabe.
Mar will also compete as an individual in the 100-yard butterfly. She currently ranks 12th in the state in that event.
