Needing a win or a tie against Cabrillo College at home on Tuesday to secure an outright Coast Conference South Division title, the No. 9 state-ranked City College of San Francisco women's soccer came up empty in a 1-0 loss to the Seahawks. It was the Rams' first defeat at home this season.
CCSF (8-2-0) and Cabrillo (7-0-3) ended up in a tie with 24 points each atop the standings and share the 2021 Coast Conference South Division championship. But with the head-to-head tie-breaker, Cabrillo gets the conference's automatic bid into the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs.
For the Rams, they captured their first Coast Conference title since 2016.
San Francisco is 14-3 overall as the Rams head into their regular-season finale on Friday (Nov. 12) against a strong Los Medanos College squad. The non-conference game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
