Sophomore goalkeeper Alexia Estrada totaled five saves to help lead the No. 5 state-ranked City College of San Francisco women's soccer team to a 2-0 Coast Conference victory over visiting West Valley College on Tuesday.

The Rams improved to 2-0 in conference play and 8-1 overall this season.

"Tuesday was a great win for us because it came against another tough Conference-divisional opponent and should help us gain momentum in league," said CCSF head coach Jeff Wilson. "Since our only loss, the team is really focused on getting better on both sides of the ball and that was evident today. Our defense is playing really well and our offense continues to create chances which really makes us dangerous and trending in the right direction."

Estrada and the CCSF defense posted its second straight and fifth overall shutout of the season.

Maleah Evans and Gabriella Rodil provided the offense for San Francisco. Evans scored her fifth goal of the season (video below) off the assist from Iliana Sanchez to give the Rams a 1-0 lead at the 33-minute mark. And Rodil sealed the win with her fifth goal as well, taking the pass from Alexandra Arouxet Jara in the 52nd minute to score.

The Rams will look to keep their unbeaten streak in conference going on Friday (Oct. 8) when they host Ohlone College in a 4 p.m. game.
