CCSF wins at American River 3-1 for fourth straight victory

SACRAMENTO – Sophomore Georgi Stoyanov scored a goal and had two assists to help lead City College of San Francisco to a 3-1 non-conference win at American River College on Friday.

The Rams surged to their fourth straight win to improve to 5-1 overall.

CCSF took a 2-0 lead into halftime after a team goal by the Rams in the 20th minute and Stoyanov's goal in the 35th.

Jonathan Wence made it a 3-0 lead for the Rams thanks to his goal in the 80th minute. American River avoided the shutout, scoring in the 86th minute just moments before the final whistle.

Fernando Escobedo posted three saves in goal for the Rams' win.

CCSF returns to action on Tuesday (Sep. 27) when the Rams open Coast Conference play with a 4 p.m. game at home against Cabrillo College.
