No. 3 CCSF handles No. 10 Sequoias, wins both games at Golden Gate Classic

No. 3 state-ranked City College of San Francisco bounced back from its lone loss of the season to win both of its games over the weekend at its second home tournament of the season, the Golden Gate Classic.

The Rams opened play on Friday night with a 92-76 victory over San Joaquin Delta College and closed the two-day event with a convincing 80-66 win against No. 10 College of the Sequoias.

The two wins improved the Rams to 6-1 overall this season.

CCSF actually trailed 39-36 after the first half against Sequoias. But the Rams outscored the Giants 44-27 over the final 20 minutes to cruise to the victory.

Naseem Gaskin led the Rams with 22 points and added 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

Wrenn Robinson came off the bench to contribute 18 points while Emmett Neal totaled 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Devan Sapp chipped in with 10 points and 4 rebounds.

The Rams had to also catch up to San Joaquin Delta. CCSF was down 41-35 at the break before turning it on with a 57-point second half to overwhelm the Mustangs.

CCSF sank 10 three pointers in the contest, including three by Gaskin on his way to a game-high 23 points. He also had 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

Seyi Reiley had a good game with 14 points and 8 rebounds while Ezekiel Holman, Sapp, and Robinson all scored 10 points each.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday (Dec. 8) when they travel to Yuba College for a 6 p.m. non-conference game.
