SAN FRANCISCO – City College of San Francisco improved to 2-0 on the season thanks to a 24-3 non-conference win over visiting Sacramento City College on Saturday in the Rams' home opener at George M. Rush Stadium.

The CCSF offense started off slow but the Rams' defense kept them in the game by allowing just 43 yards of offense to Sacramento.

With the score tied 3-3 at halftime, the Rams finally came alive in the third quarter. Quarterback Dorian Hale led CCSF on a 6-play, 68-yard drive that was capped by an 8-yard touchdown pass to Max Rodarte to give the Rams the 10-3 lead at the 11:59 mark.

On Sacramento's ensuing drive, the CCSF defense came up with a big fourth-down stop deep in Panthers' territory to get the ball back near the goal line. Hale ran it in from 7 yards out to extend the Rams' lead to 17-3 with 20:19 to go in the third.

Hale and Rodarte connected again for the Rams' final score. Hale hit Rodarte for an 8-yard TD strike midway through the fourth quarter and the Rams' defense held Sacramento scoreless over the final three quarters to close out the victory.

Hale continued to be a dual threat, passing for 184 yards and 2 TDs (19-29) while rushing 15 times for 73 yards and a touchdown.

Rodarte ended with 5 receptions for 57 yards and 2 TDs while Hassan Mahasin also hauled in 5 catches.

The CCSF defense allowed only 3 rushing yards on the game and totaled 4 sacks. Elias Williams led the Rams with 8 tackles while Rocky Katoanga had 7 tackles and a sack.

CCSF will look to keep the momentum going next Saturday (Sep. 16) when the Rams host Butte College in a 1 p.m. game at home.
