SAN FRANCISCO - Shawn Allen ran in for two touchdowns while Joseph Oliveira knocked in a pair of field goals but City College of San Francisco couldn't hold a halftime lead and suffered a 31-20 National Bay 6 League loss to visiting Laney College on Saturday at George M. Rush Stadium.

CCSF fell to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in league play. Laney moved into first place at 2-0 in the Bay 6 and is 5-2 overall.

After falling behind 9-0 early, the Rams responded with 17 unanswered points to take the lead.

Allen capped a pair of CCSF drives in the first quarter with touchdown runs of 2 and 8 yards. Oliveira's field goal kick from 21 yards out was good with 2:02 left in the second and the Rams went into halftime with a 17-9 lead.

But the Rams' offense went cold in the second half. CCSF was forced to punt to end four drives, turned the ball over on downs once, and threw interceptions on their final two drives to dash any hopes of a comeback.

CCSF's lone points in the second half came thanks to a 25-yard Oliveira field goal at the 6:48 mark in the fourth. The Rams got within three at 23-20 but would get no closer.

The Rams totaled just 143 yards of offense. Allen led CCSF with 18 carries for 45 yards with 2 TDs.

On defense, Andrew Woolard totaled 7 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, a forced fumble and fumble recovery.

Isaih Revis also had 7 tackles while Gabriel Iniguez had 4 tackles, a sack, 2 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble.

CCSF will look to bounce back next Saturday (Oct. 28) at 7 p.m. when the Rams travel to Diablo Valley College for a Bay 6 League game.
