Rams have five named All-Coast Conference North Division

Following the close of the 2022 City College of San Francisco baseball season, five Rams received second-team All-Coast Conference North Division postseason honors.

The honorees include freshman catcher Shane Stanley, freshman infielder Angel Perez, freshman utility David Balague, freshman pitcher Owen Gallegos, and sophomore designated hitter Tres Sarmiento.

Stanley was huge for the Rams defensively at catcher. He led the state and conference by throwing out 26 runners attempting to steal bases. With the bat, he hit .280 with 28 hits, and 8 RBI.

Perez batted .340 on the season, smacking 36 hits with 11 RBI. Balague led the Rams with 5 home runs and 11 doubles while his 39 hits were second-best on the squad.

From the mound, Gallegos started 14 games for CCSF and compiled a 3-4 overall record. He struck out 67 batters over a team-high 79 1/3 innings and ended with a 5.56 earned run average.

Sarmeinto put up solid numbers on offense as he totaled 30 hits, 4 doubles, 2 home runs, a team-high 18 RBI, and 13 walks. He batted .306 for the season.

The Rams wrapped up the season with a 5-31 overall record and ended in sixth place in the final Coast Conference North Division standings at 1-19.
