Rams suffer first loss at Hartnell

SALINAS – An unbeaten start to the 2022 season for the City College of San Francisco women's volleyball team came to an end on Wednesday with a 3-0 loss at Hartnell College.

The Rams and new head coach Sifa Faaiu had won their first five matches of the season but fell to 5-1 after the defeat. Hartnell took the Coast Conference crossover match by scores of 25-15, 25-19, and 25-17.

Vanessa Semien led the Rams' offense with 9 kills to go with 16 digs while Jennifer Mata'u totaled 7 kills, 9 assists, and 10 digs.

Anivaolegai-Moors Tafilele had a huge match on the defensive end, posting a match-high 40 digs. Jasmine Davis added 26 digs and Josie LesCallett led the Rams with 12 assists.

CCSF returns to action on Friday (Sep. 23) when the Rams return to Salinas for the Hartnell Classic. CCSF is set to face Shasta College and host Hartnell in matches.
