SF Examiner Wrap up -Women's Volleyball Playoff Run and Women's Basketball

The City College of San Francisco women’s volleyball team lost in the second round of the playoffs on Saturday.

Gavilan swept the Rams, 3-0, ending their impressive season with a 22-4 record (10-2 in conference).

Kijana Best logged 18 kills and 15 digs in the final match, while Jennifer Quarters-Styles had 16 kills and 21 digs.

Before losing, CCSF beat Shasta at home in straight sets, despite falling behind 14-20 in the first. Best, who won conference player of the year, contributed 17 kills and 12 digs.

The Rams’ women’s basketball team continues to impress, beating Foothill last week, 56-54. 

CCSF pounded Foothill on the boards, outrebounding their opponent 59-40.

Nahire Pierce (13 points, 15 rebounds) and Destiny Kelly (14 and 10) each logged double-doubles. The contest extended Pierce’s double-double streak to seven games.
