Women's Track Finishes 2019 Season, After Taking it to NorCal Championships

CCSF Men's and Women's Track has recently wrapped up their season, this year taking it all the way to the NorCal Championships.  Both our men's and women's teams were represented at the NorCal meet, which was held on Friday May 10th, with both individual athletes as well as relays coming in at a top 10 finish. 

 

Representing Women's Track:

Janice Conley placed 4th at NorCals in the 100m dash with a time of 12.64 seconds.

Laurel George took 9th in he 400m dash with a final time of 1:02.12.

Hannah Ryan finished 6th at NorCals in the 5000m run with a time of 19:43.20.  Ryan also took 4th at this same meet in the 10,000m run, with a final time of 40:35.06.

4x 400m Relay (Rowan Izzo, Lauren George, Carla Hovde, and Janice Conley) placed 9th with a total time of 4:22.73.

 

Representing Men's Track:

Michael Moore, Leon Sheehan, William Mai, and Jun Zheng placed 6th in the 4x100m Relay with a total time of 42.59.

 

This season our Ram runners were coached by Greg Bianchi, Shannon Maas, and Nick Torres.  The three coaches worked together, along with our Strength and Conditioning Coach Abe Munayer, to prepare these athletes to reach their top potential each week.  They were successful in their endeavors, as much of the team improved on their times, running personal bests. 

Bianchi stated that he was proud of the work the athletes put in this season and is looking forward to seeing what they can do next year.  With a large freshman presence on the team, they should be strong coming back into their second season.

Leading up to the NorCal Championships, Rams were triumphant at the Conference Championships, finishing with the following results:

 

Men's Track:

Leon Sheehan 9th 200m dash and 400m dash

Men's 4x 100m relay, 5th - Ericson, Sheehan, Mai, Zheng

Men's 4x 400m relay, 6th   - Ericson, Mai, Moore, Sheehan 

 

Women's Track:

Janie Conley 4th in 100m dash, 2nd 200m dash

Lauren George 4th 200m dash, 2nd 400m dash

Hannah Ryan 2nd in 5000m run, 1st in 10,000m run

Women: 6th in 4x100 relay, 7th in 4x400m relay

 

To close out the season, CCSF will be sending one runner to the State Championship meet – Hannah Ryan will represent the Rams as she takes on the 10k.
