Rams perform well at Las Positas Hawk Invite

LIVERMORE – In its second-to-final meet before the Coast Conference Championships, the City College of San Francisco women's swimming & diving team put together numerous impressive performances at the two-day Las Positas College Hawk Invite this past weekend.

Leading the way were Cristina Bracamontes and Maggie Beatty. The duo helped pace CCSF's 400 freestyle, 400 medley, and 200 freestyle relay squads.

Bracamontes put up quality times in the 100, 200, and 500 free as well as in the 100 breaststroke. Beatty excelled in the 50 and 100 free as well as the 100 breaststroke.

Head coach Phong Pham also pointed out the following standouts from the weekend:
Rachel Berning: 50 fly (first time), 50 free, 50 back
Veronique Borges: 200 IM, 100 fly
Olivia Gow-Smith: 50, 100 & 200 back
Yvette Lee: 50 free, 100 back
Linda O'Connor: 50 &100 free,
Kim Stephens: 50 free and 100 breaststroke
Relays:; 400 free (Beatty, Borges, Bracamontes & Gow-Smith), 400 medley (Gow-Smith, Beatty, Borges & Bracamontes) and 200 free (Borges, Gow-Smith, Bracamontes & Beatty)

The Rams will get their final tune up before the Coast Conference Championships on Saturday (Apr. 8) when they are scheduled to compete at the Chabot College Last Chance Invitational.

The Coast Conference Championships are set for Apr. 20-22 at Ohlone College in Fremont.
