FREMONT – The City College of San Francisco women's swimming and diving team got a good look at its competition on Friday as all 12 conference schools competed at the Coast Conference Kickoff at Ohlone College.

Head coach Phong Pham was impressed with his squad's effort.

"It was a cold and very windy day and our team's first meet in an outdoor pool," Pham said. "Despite the challenging weather conditions and not having the indoor pool ceiling to help with guiding for backstroke, our team performed well."

Pham pointed out strong performances by Maggie Beatty and Veronique Borges. Beatty swam season-best times in the 50-yard freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 100 breaststroke.

Borges had solid times in the 200 freestyle, 1650 free, and 100 butterfly.

Up next for the Rams is a five-team meet with De Anza, Cabrillo, Ohlone, Hartnell, and CCSF at De Anza on Feb. 24.
