Past CCSF Swimmer, Sophia Greco, Awarded CCCAA 2018 Honor Roll

It is with pride we announce that a previous member of our Women's Swim team, Sophia Greco, was awarded a place on the CCCAA's 2018 Honor Roll.  The Scholar-Athlete award winners are recognized for excelling academically with at least a 3.50 GPA, athletically and in citizenship, and represent the positive outcome of dedication, hard work and service.

Sophia represented CCSF as a student-athlete for two seasons, 2016-2017 and 2017-2018; in her time here, she was successful both at the conference and the state level, as well as in academics where she maintained a 4.0 GPA.

In 2017 Greco placed 1st in the Cost Conference in the 400yd Individual Medley, 2nd  in the 200yd Backstroke, and 3rd in the 500yd Freestyle.  With these swims she was able to qualify for the state championship, where she placed 5th in the 400yd IM, as well as 4th in the 200yd backstroke.

In 2018 she finished our Conference Championships with 1st place in both the 200 Backstroke and the 400 Individual Medley, as well as a 2nd place in the 200 Individual Medley.  These times qualified her for the State Championship where she finished with 9th overall in the 200 IM and an amazing 3rd place in the 200 Backstroke.

Greco definitely embodies this award, as she was, and continues to be a dedicated, hard-working individual both in and out of the pool.  She is now continuing her excellence as a student-athlete at Soka University of America, located in Alisa Viejo, CA.

Congratulations Sophia!
