First Rams Invitational was a Success

First Rams Invitational was a Success

On the weekend of February 8-9, our CCSF Women’s Swim team hosted their first Rams Invitational Meet.  This was their second competition of the 2019 season, and the first experience the swimmers had at a two day meet.  With schools joining them from as far as Southern California, this meet provided the opportunity to compete against colleges from within and outside of our conference; participating schools included Cabrillo College, Foothill College, Laney College, Mt San Antonio College, Sierra College, Solano College, and West Valley College, and of course your San Francisco Rams.

Overall the meet ran very smoothly, received positive feedback from the coaches and officials, and boasted some successful swims from all participants for this early in the season.  Friday’s events consisted of some shorter distance swims, including the 100 Individual Medley, as well as 50 yard and 100 yard events for the various strokes.  Saturday included some longer distance events, such as 200 yard races as well as the 1650 yard Freestyle, a whopping 66 laps to complete a mile.  We had three strong ladies take on the mile, each of whom swam personal bests.

In the end the CCSF ladies were the top scoring women’s team of the meet, finishing with a total of 947.5 points, while the Sierra College Men’s team ranked number one among the men swimmers, with a total of 1355 points.  Congratulations again to everyone that participated.

Following the Invitational on the schedule for our Women’s Swim Team was the Coast Conference Kick Off Meet held at Chabot College on February 15th, leading them then into a Quad Meet at De Anza College against Cabrillo, West Valley, Ohlone, and De Anza Colleges.   Go Rams!
