Rams rack up women’s soccer postseason awards

Another impressive City College of San Francisco women's soccer season was celebrated with numerous postseason honors for the Rams. The 2022 awards came from the Coast Conference, state, and national levels.

Leading the way was sophomore forward Leslie Murillo. She became just the second in CCSF women's soccer program history to be named a two-time, first-team All-American by United Soccer Coaches.

Sophomore Maleah Evans also capped a tremendous CCSF soccer career. She was named to the 2022 All-State and All-Northern California teams by the California Community College Soccer Coaches Association (CCCSCA).

The Rams once again dominated the Coast Conference North Division soccer awards, earning a total of 15 honors.

Evans was named the Coast Conference North Division Player of the Year while Murillo was selected the Offensive Player of the Year. Also for the Rams, Talia McCloy was tabbed the North Division's Freshman of the Year.

Selected first-team All-Coast Conference North Division were Murillo, Evans, McCloy, sophomore Alexandra Arouxet-Jara, sophomore Iliana Sanchez, and sophomore Leilani Jara.

Second-team honors went to sophomore Grace Plessinger, sophomore Evalani Dudum, and freshman Gabriela Reyes. Named honorable mention by the conference were freshman Naré Avetian, sophomore Kaila Calma, and freshman Elvira Motuapuaka

The Rams wrapped up the 2022 season ranked No. 13 in the nation in the final United Soccer Coaches poll. Under head coach Jeff Wilson, CCSF compiled a 15-4-1 overall record while going 8-1 in Coast Conference North Division play. The Rams came up just short in advancing to the state championships, but reached the third round of the Northern California playoffs.
