CCSF knocks off unbeaten Sierra 3-2

SAN FRANCISCO – The City College of San Francisco women's soccer team took another step in the right direction after picking up a solid win over previously-undefeated Sierra College. Sophomore Alexandra Arouxet Jara scored twice to help lead the Rams to a 3-2 victory on Tuesday.

CCSF struck early in the fourth minute off a clinical strike via Maleah Evans off a great pass by Leslie Murillo.

Sierra (5-1) came back from deficits in the 29th and 63rd minutes but were unable to overcome solo goals by Arouxet Jara, who put her team in the lead in the 47th and then delivered a game-winning wonder strike in the 89th.

The win runs CCSF's record to 4-2-1 going into Saturday's (Sep. 24) contest at home against Southern California power Cerritos College. The Rams host the seven-time state champions at 10 am. Come check out the Rams as they look to secure their third straight victory!
