It’s seventh heaven!

The City College of San Francisco Women’s Soccer team captured the Coast-North Conference Championship in front of the Rams’ faithful on Tuesday with a lopsided 10-0 win over Skyline.

This is the seventh conference championship in a row for the Rams, and is conference title number one for first-year Head Coach Jeff Wilson.

“This (championship) means a lot to our players. There is an expectation to win, and coming in that was one of the things I wanted to establish. It’s great to see how much joy it brings to the team,” Wilson said.

The fireworks started early for CCSF. The Rams took complete control of the game after barely 20 minutes into the match. Freshman midfielder Danielle Nicotera netted a hat trick after scoring the team’s first three goals at the 9th, 10th, and 21st minute. The three scores upped her season total to seven.

After Nictoera’s early-game hat trick, the floodgates opened for CCSF’s attackers. Sophomore All-American Jesse Bareilles scored four goals – three of which were scored in a 17-minute span. She now has 31 goals. Sophomore Olivia DelRosso added two goals and freshman Mia Toracca rounded out the barrage.

After the Rams impressive title-clinching win, Wilson said the accomplishment was a culmination of the team’s season-long effort and determination.

“We don’t expect to do it the way we did it today. The fact that they put in effort in every single game and come out on top of the league, I think, says a lot about the program and character of the players,” Wilson said.

The Rams last regular season game is against Ohlone this Friday. Kickoff is 3 p.m.
